Hello! I have a problem with my network connection in Windows 7. Everything works great until the computer has been at rest for a while, then my ethernet connection drops out! As soon as I move my mouse or keyboard the ethernet comes back on. My laptop is NOT in sleep/hibernate mode when all this occurs! Please help!? Answer. Great question :-).

It seems my balanced plan had been changed to turn off display after 20 minutes and never sleep. I reset it back to the default of turn off display after 10 minutes and sleep after 30 minutes. In Windows 7 there are three plans: - Balanced (sleeps in 30 minutes), - Power saver (15 min) and - High performance (Never sleep). Two are always visible, but the third one is often hidden. The third one can be made visible by clicking "Show additional plans". To prevent sleep while CSAM is scanning, just select the "High performance" plan.
